Read the full instructions before starting. Follow these steps to install your base for the Jeep® JL/4xe/Gladiator (2024+). Allow 5-10 minutes.
Step 1 - Remove the rubber tray inserts from either side of the top center speaker.
Remove the OEM rubber dash tray liner and set aside.
This will expose the 8 x OEM female threads. The threads are 5mm and spaced in the hole pattern format with centers on 30mm x 38mm.
Step 2 - Dry fit the Series 55™ rail assembly over the OEM female threads.
Look for alignment, but do not install. See how how the Series 55™ rail will be laying on the top.
At this stage it is fine for there to be a small 1-2mm gap between the base closest to the occupants and the dash tray. This is by design and the fit closes later in the installation.
Step 3 - Remove and install 3M® material (optional).
This is optional and not required. The nylon plastic components have been finished and sealed and have a polished texture and appearance to simply rest on the top of the dash trim.
Some users may wish to add a soft 3M® surface material and that is included should that be desired.
Trim the pieces provided and install as indicated in these images.
Step 4 - Prepare the included fasteners with Loctite® blue thread agent (not included).
This is an optional step, but in place of washers, we recommend that you use a small amount of BLUE Loctite® in the OEM female 5mm threads in the dash. This will prevent the 5mm fastener working out over time and with the normal Jeep® vibrations from the road and the trail.
Be very careful not to get any Loctite® on the 67 Designs products or the Jeep® trim.
Step 5 - Place the Series 55™ rail assembly back on the dash and align with the OEM holes.
Take a few seconds to get the base lined up.
Step 6 - Install the 5mm fasteners
Starting with the threads closest to the windshield, insert and begin to thread the fasteners into the female threads. DO NOT tighten at this stage. Use the included L-wrench as needed to just start the thread.
Continue until all 8 fasteners are in the threads and turning without issue.
Continue to work around all fasteners slowly bringing the base sections down to meet the OEM dash bottom. use the L-wrench, but do NOT over tighten or go wild with cranking down the fasteners.
Step 7 - Admire your work and get ready to add the trackballs, arms and holders.
That is it to install the base. You can install the Series 55™ trackballs, arms or other hardware you may have purchased from 67 Designs. Please remember that we only recommend the Nano size arm for use with this implementation because of the geometry of the dash. Enjoy.
